Loadwise is a Berlin-based energy software company helping data center operators and developers plan and operate sites within increasingly constrained power grids.
As power availability becomes one of the main bottlenecks for new data center capacity, Loadwise supports projects from the grid connection and energy concept phase through to ongoing operations. The company helps operators understand future electricity demand, assess the flexibility of on-site systems and coordinate data center operations with grid requirements and energy market signals.
Loadwise works with existing infrastructure such as uninterruptible power supply systems, cooling, backup generation and, where available, dedicated battery energy storage systems. Its approach is designed to respect uptime requirements, redundancy concepts and customer service-level agreements at all times. Rather than treating data centers as fully flexible loads, Loadwise focuses on identifying which parts of a site can safely respond, under which conditions and for how long.
For new developments, Loadwise helps integrate energy supply, grid access and flexibility considerations into site planning from an early stage. In operation, the company is building and testing software that combines power demand forecasts, equipment availability and clearly defined operating limits with signals from grid operators and energy markets.
The goal is to enable data centers to secure and use grid capacity more effectively, reduce energy costs and contribute to a reliable, increasingly renewable power system without compromising operational resilience.
Loadwise was founded in Berlin in 2025 by a team with experience in energy markets, virtual power plants, distributed energy assets and electricity supply.
