Switch Datacenter Group develops, designs, builds, and operates state-of-the-art sustainable data centers across Europe, primarily around Amsterdam, where the company is based. Over the past 12 years, Switch Datacenters has evolved from a retail colocation player into a wholesale data center operator, built-to-suit developer, and site developer. Its growing portfolio includes new data centers, expansions of existing sites, and unique new data center plots. The total development portfolio across Europe exceeds 1,000 MW (1 GW).

Switch Datacenters is a 100% privately owned Dutch company, founded and led by experienced Dutch digital infrastructure entrepreneurs and investors. The company places strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and socially responsible urban and regional development.

We are proactively involved in numerous innovative sustainable data center initiatives and organizations in the Netherlands and abroad, and we are a member of international alliances promoting sustainable IT and data center deployment. Innovation, technical optimization, and maintaining a competitive edge are at the core of our operations.

Currently, Switch Datacenters operates three active data centers, with several new projects under development both domestically and internationally. The company is actively developing large-scale wholesale high-density AI data centers, focusing on societal benefit through medium- to high-temperature green residual heat (air- and liquid-cooled) that is directly supplied to district heating networks.
This means the fully renewable electricity entering our facilities is not only used by our clients to process data, but the resulting heat is captured and reused, offering a highly sustainable double use of renewable energy.

Three of these new locations under development in the Amsterdam region are expected to bring tens to hundreds of megawatts online between 2027 and 2032, in line with the Netherlands’ ongoing heat transition.
